A new review from Movie Man Mike:

Downfall (B). This movie is based upon the book "The Downfall: Hitler and the End of the Third Reich" by Joachim Fest. It depicts the last days of Adolph Hitler from the vantage point of his bunker. Because the movie is in German, it is subtitled. Although the film is rather dark, I was fascinated by the depictions of what purportedly went on in the final days, and I had no idea about some of these events. Bruno Ganz makes a great Hitler. The events are often surreal and I found myself at times sympathizing with those who were part of Hitler's team. This film was very enlightening. You should see this movie, if for no other reason to experience the newly refurbished Inwood theater, with a new concession stand and new roomier, cozy chairs in the upstairs theaters.
